The Czech Book Award

Prof. PhDr. Petr A. Bílek, CSc.

He teaches theory and history of contemporary Czech literature at the Institute of Czech Literature and Literary Sciences, Faculty of Arts of Charles University. Between 1980-85 he studied Czech and English at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. Between 1990-91 he was editor of the journal Iniciály after 1991 he was a lecturer at the Chair of Czech Literature. Between 1994-97 and in 2000 he taught at Brown University in Providence, United States. He is the author of numerous books and about fifty studies in literary theory, some of which have been translated into English, French, German, Italian, Hungarian, Croatian and Japanese.
